Context
This state government agency had a number of concurrent projects running within their ERP program, deploying SAP through their four divisions. The goal of this ERP program was to deliver extended IT and business functionality to assist the agency in achieving its strategic management outcomes.

Brief
To ensure that the training for all concurrent ERP projects was managed as a coordinated program of work, under the development and execution of an overall training strategy and plan.

Outcomes

  • 40+ days of training courseware developed
  • SAP scope included Basic Navigation, FI/CO, HR, ESS, MSS, MM, AA, cProjects, Contract Management, BW
  • 5,500 training participants across a wide variety of business divisions and locations
  • 559 SAP system tasks within 21 business streams covered in the education solution scope.

Approach
The aim of the training team was to develop and deliver training courses that focused on the functionality of the SAP system which would effectively transfer adequate, role based knowledge to end users, enabling them to operate comfortably post go live.

The training solution was role-based, including a mix of 27 instructor led and 34 online training courses.
To ensure alignment between the solution and training documentation, trainers worked closely with the appropriate functional teams to ensure awareness of design change, issue resolution and ensure adequate input from business subject matter experts was received.
